Our team

FOUNDER, HEAD TRAINER

Keely Korbel

My dog training journey began back in 2013 when I moved to Austin, Texas, to attend Starmark Academy, a well-respected school for professional dog trainers. The program was an intensive three-month course, and I was fortunate to be selected for their internship program, which allowed me to stay on for an additional three months to further sharpen my skills. From there, I stepped into the world of working dogs, joining a company focused on drug detection training.

I spent three years in Texas before returning home, where I continued to grow in the field by working with another dog training company. That experience reignited my passion—not just for training dogs, but for supporting the people behind the leash. I wanted to create something different: a company that truly prioritized both the dog’s learning experience and the owner’s confidence and growth.

In 2019, I launched Ruff Rules with a clear mission: to empower struggling dog owners, strengthen their bond with their dogs, and teach them how to use training tools—like remote collars—properly and fairly to give their dogs more freedom, not less.

My personal dog, Cruzz, was a big part of that vision. I adopted him while I was at Starmark, and he came with a full list of challenges—fear aggression, leash reactivity, high anxiety, and zero recall. He taught me patience, perspective, and just how overwhelming it can feel to have a dog you love but don’t know how to help. That firsthand experience shaped the heart of Ruff Rules.

Now, over five years later, I’m proud to have an incredible team of women who have personally trained under me. Each one brings her own strengths to the table, helping both dogs and their humans make life-changing progress.

Ruff Rules is more than just a dog training company
—it’s a community rooted in connection, education, and building strong, reliable relationships between dogs and their owners. What began as a leap of faith into the world of dog training has grown into something far greater than I ever imagined. Born from personal experience, built through years of hands-on work, and driven by a deep belief that real change happens when both the dog and the owner feel supported, Ruff Rules reflects everything I’ve learned along the way.

Every challenge I faced with Cruzz, every client I’ve helped, and every dog that’s come through our program has shaped this journey. Today, Ruff Rules stands as a place where people and dogs are met with compassion, clear communication, and a team that truly cares. I’m beyond proud of what we’ve built—and even more excited for the difference we’ll continue to make, together.

TRAINER

Jenna Soulliere

Hi! My name is Jenna. I am a dedicated marine biologist and passionate dog trainer who has always been fascinated by animal behavior, both in the water and on land. As an animal lover, I became a veterinarian technician while I lived in Texas, and as an ocean lover, became a marine biologist here in Florida. I have had dogs all of my life and currently have my old man Saint (the best boy!) and Trooper, my young GSP! My journey into dog training began with Trooper, where I discovered e-collar training as an effective communication tool for the freedom I wanted him to have. I saw firsthand how it created clarity and reliability in his training and how it helped build such a great relationship between us.

My goal is to help owners build strong, positive relationships with their dogs, as I believe every dog deserves a happy, well-balanced life. Whether working in the ocean or with dogs, my mission remains the same—helping animals and owners thrive.

I am grateful to be able to provide Adult and Puppy Board and Train programs with Ruff Rules.

TRAINER

Eva Cimino

Hi, I'm Eva, and I’d like to introduce my pride and joy, Hailey Jane. She’s not just my beloved companion; she’s also the inspiration behind my journey to become a dog trainer.

When Hailey was just 8 weeks old, I enrolled us in puppy lessons with Ruff Rules, eventually progressing to e-collar training. From day one, I knew that the balanced training approach provided by Keely was the right path for us. With consistency and dedication, Hailey has thrived and is now living her best off-leash life!

Fast forward four years, and I can’t imagine doing anything else but helping dogs and their owners achieve the same joy and freedom Hailey and I share.

In my free time, I enjoy horseback riding, a passion I've had since I was five. When I'm not training with Hailey or working with Ruff Rules, you’ll likely find me at the barn, teaching lessons—where Hailey often tags along!

TRAINER

Serena Sauerwald

Hi, I'm Serena, a passionate dog trainer based in upstate NY—proudly cheering for the Buffalo Bills! My journey began with a love for soccer that took me to Florida for college, but the vibrant community I found here made me stay.

My path into dog training was sparked by my background in athletic training, which led me to meet my wonderful friend Keely at the gym. She took a chance on me and introduced me to the world of dog training, and I’ve been hooked ever since!

What truly drives me is the chance to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Through training, I help you and your dog establish clear communication and deepen your connection, creating a more fulfilling life together. It’s not just about the training; it’s about building relationships, fostering growth, and embracing transformation.

At Ruff Rules, I offer in-home daily training and lessons for both puppies and adult dogs. I can’t wait to partner with you and help you and your dog succeed!

TRAINER

Sydney Gibbs

Hi, I’m Sydney Gibbs, a passionate dog trainer dedicated to helping owners and their furry companions thrive together. As an army brat, I've lived in various states and even spent some time in Portugal, giving me a unique perspective on different dog training needs and styles. When I’m not training, you can find me exploring nature or traveling with my beloved dogs.

I share my life with Bentley, my spirited pitbull who struggled with fear-based reactivity, and Ace, my playful German Shepherd mix. Bentley's journey inspired me to become a trainer, and I strive to help other dog owners achieve goals they never thought possible. My experience taught me the importance of patience and understanding, and I believe every dog has the potential to thrive.

What I Do for Ruff Rules:

At Ruff Rules, I offer In-Home Daily Training and Lessons tailored to meet the unique needs of each dog and owner. My goal is to make training an enjoyable experience that strengthens the bond between families and their four-legged friends.
